- FTMO added TradingView as a platform in August 2026, for the Challenge (1-Step and 2-Step) and the FTMO Account
- Fintokei connects to TradingView through cTrader accounts only. The5%ers lets non-US traders choose MT5, cTrader or TradingView
- TradingView’s free Basic plan still lets you trade through brokers. Paid monthly plans start at $14.95 (Essential), $34.95 (Plus) and $69.95 (Premium), checked 26 September 2026
- Some firms fix the platform at purchase, so choose before you pay

FTMO — TradingView available since August 2026
FTMO’s FAQ (updated 24 August 2026) lists MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView for the FTMO Challenge 1-Step and 2-Step and the FTMO Account. FTMO announced it on its blog on 26 August 2026; you pick TradingView from the platform dropdown when configuring a challenge.
The connection steps are in the FAQ (updated 28 August 2026):
- Create a TradingView registration, or log in to an existing one
- In TradingView Charts, click Trade (top right), find OANDA and click Connect
- Click Continue with FTMO Profile and log in to FTMO if prompted
FTMO accounts on TradingView connect automatically, but they do not sync to your other devices on the same TradingView registration, so each device needs its own connection.
On FTMO’s tools list, the TradingView integration appears in the Challenge and FTMO Trader columns but not in the Free Trial column (checked 26 September 2026). If you want to try TradingView in the Free Trial, check whether the sign-up form offers it.
Fintokei — trade from TradingView with a cTrader account
Fintokei’s FAQ says only cTrader accounts can be connected to TradingView; MT4 and MT5 accounts cannot. Free Trial, Challenge and virtually funded accounts qualify, and every instrument in your cTrader account can be traded in TradingView.
You connect from the TradingView button in My.Fintokei, then select Purple Trading in TradingView’s trading panel. Trailing stops are not supported when placing orders from TradingView.
Plan rules are summarised in our Fintokei rules guide.
The5%ers — three choices outside the US, locked after purchase
The5%ers’ FAQ (updated 13 August 2026) lets non-US clients choose MetaTrader 5, cTrader or TradingView, while US clients get TradingView only. cTrader adds $10 to the program price, and the platform cannot be switched after purchase.
Note: on 2026-08-01 this site re-rated The5%ers from High to Low trust (★4.6→3.3) after the firm itself acknowledged payout delays in March 2026. A flat 3.5% is deducted from every payout. If you use it, keep the ticket small and confirm your first payout arrives early.
Futures firms mostly go through Tradovate
For US futures prop firms, the common route is connecting a Tradovate account to TradingView. FundedNext Futures says TradingView trades route through Tradovate, with no additional platform fees, data costs or monthly subscriptions beyond the challenge fee.
Topstep is different. Its official page describes TradingView charts built into its own TopstepX platform, which is not the same as connecting an account to TradingView itself. See the TopstepX guide and the broader best futures prop firms comparison.
Is TradingView’s free plan enough?
TradingView’s pricing page (checked 26 September 2026) shows trading through selected brokers and paper trading on every plan, including the free Basic plan. If you only need to place orders on a prop account, you can start for free.
Where the free plan starts to pinch:
| Basic (free) | Essential | Plus | Premium | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $0 | $14.95 | $34.95 | $69.95 |
| Annual (per month) | — | $12.95 | $29.95 | $59.95 |
| Indicators per chart | 2 | 5 | 10 | 25 |
| Charts per tab | 1 | 2 | 4 | 8 |
| Price alerts | 3 | 20 | 100 | 400 |
| Ads | Yes | No | No | No |
| Bar Replay (minute data) | Not available | Last 180 days | Last 365 days | All |
| Free trial | — | 30 days | 30 days | 30 days |
Source: TradingView pricing page, checked 26 September 2026. The annual prices were labelled “Special price” and may be temporary. Ultimate is $239.95 monthly or $199.95 per month billed annually. Sales tax may be added depending on your location.
A rough guide:
- You use two indicators at most (say a moving average and RSI): Basic is enough
- You want several timeframes side by side or many alerts: Essential or Plus
- You want to practise on past intraday charts before a challenge: minute-level Bar Replay needs Essential or higher. See backtesting tools for prop challenges
TradingView runs separately from the firm’s dashboard, so check the room left to your daily loss limit on the firm’s side (Account MetriX at FTMO, for example). Logging is covered in trading journal apps for prop challenges.

FTMO — challenges and funded accounts on TradingView
Running since 2015. Since August 2026 you can choose TradingView for the Challenge (1-Step and 2-Step) and the FTMO Account.
The free trial lets you test everything at no cost, and the 2-Step Challenge fee is refunded with your first payout after passing (no refund if you fail). See the FTMO free trial guide.
Fintokei — try TradingView from the Free Trial
Pick a cTrader account and you can place orders from TradingView from the Free Trial onward. MT4 and MT5 accounts cannot be connected, so choose cTrader at purchase.
