What happened
FTMO, the largest FX/CFD prop firm, is running a futures-only program — FTMO Futures — in beta (read from its own pages on 2026-09-01). The site navigation now splits into “CFD” and “Futures (BETA)”: futures is a separate product line.
The pricing model is the notable part. FTMO’s CFD product is a one-time fee in euros (from €89). FTMO Futures is a USD monthly subscription — the same billing model as Topstep (from $49/mo) and MyFundedFutures. FTMO has adopted the incumbents’ model rather than exporting its own.
Measured terms (2026-09-01)
Growth — cheaper entry, softer rules
| Account | Monthly | Profit target | Max DD | Daily loss | Payout cap | Consistency | Payout eligibility |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50K | $119 | $3,000 | $2,000 | $1,000 (soft) | $2,500 | 40% (evaluation only) | 4 days |
| $100K | $169 | $6,000 | $3,500 | $2,000 (soft) | $3,000 | 40% (evaluation only) | 4 days |
| $150K | $229 | $9,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 (soft) | $4,000 | 40% (evaluation only) | 4 days |
Pro — higher caps, full withdrawals
| Account | Monthly | Profit target | Max DD | Daily loss | Payout cap | Consistency | Payout eligibility |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50K | $139 | $3,000 | $3,000 | $1,000 (hard) | $5,000 | 50% (evaluation only) | 5 days |
| $100K | $199 | $6,000 | $4,500 | $1,500 (hard) | $6,000 | 50% (evaluation only) | 5 days |
| $150K | $269 | $9,000 | $6,000 | $2,000 (hard) | $8,000 | 50% (evaluation only) | 5 days |
Stated across every plan: no consistency rule on the Sim-Funded account, no activation fee, a 90% split (Pro is advertised as withdrawing 100% of profit), no intraday trailing, news trading allowed, a drawdown trailing lock, and simulated capital up to $450,000.
Where this bites the incumbents
Against the futures specialists we track, three design choices stand out:
- No activation fee — Apex Trader Funding charges $85 to activate after passing. Waiving it is a direct answer to that
- No consistency rule on the funded account — the constraint applies during evaluation only. Many futures firms apply it to funded accounts too
- No intraday trailing — Topstep’s Maximum Loss Limit trails intraday unrealised P&L, and that mechanism ends more accounts than anything else. FTMO Futures does not use it
Against that: entry cost is $119/mo versus Topstep’s $49/mo, the product is in beta, and this site has not yet verified a single FTMO Futures payout. Those are material.
Our conflict-of-interest disclosure
This site is an FTMO affiliate. At publication, FTMO’s affiliate dashboard stated that FTMO Futures orders created during the beta phase were not eligible for commission (seen by us on 2026-09-01), so we earned nothing when a reader signed up for FTMO Futures through us. That changed on 23 September 2026: the product now pays commission, and it recurs for up to 12 months. The details, and what it means for this article, are in the update below.
For the wider field see best futures prop firms; for Topstep’s current terms see how to start with Topstep and the TopstepX guide. Figures change — confirm on the official site before buying.
Update, 23 September 2026: the beta has ended — and so has our zero-commission position
FTMO’s affiliate dashboard announced on 23 September 2026 that FTMO Futures is now fully live, and the “BETA” tag has been removed from the site navigation (checked by us the same day).
The most important change is to this article’s conflict of interest. When we first published, FTMO Futures orders created during beta were not eligible for commission, so we earned nothing. As of 23 September 2026, FTMO’s public affiliate page states the opposite:
- FTMO Futures evaluations pay commission, and it recurs for up to 12 months; account resets are commissionable too
- At our current level (Bronze) the rates are 8% on CFD Challenges (one-time), 10% on Futures Evaluations (recurring), and 5% on Futures resets
- The dashboard notice adds a 30% boost on Futures commissions until 18 October 2026 (Bronze 10% to 13%)
So futures now pays us more than CFDs, and it keeps paying while the monthly subscription runs. Most of our readers trade futures, which means what we write about FTMO Futures from here on is directly tied to our revenue. We are stating that plainly. Our rating policy — commissions do not move rankings or trust scores — is unchanged and set out in About.
We re-read the terms the same day. One thing has changed since publication:
- The daily loss limit has been removed from Growth’s evaluation phase (it was a soft $1,000–$3,000 limit at first reading). The soft limit still applies on the Sim-Funded account.
We also recorded terms we had not published before. Reset fees run $109–$219 on Growth and $129–$259 on Pro. Payout eligibility is 4 days of at least $150–$300/day on Growth, 5 days of at least $200–$500/day on Pro. Payout caps per request are $2,500–$4,000 (Growth) and $5,000–$8,000 (Pro). The withdrawable share is 50% on Growth and 100% on Pro, with a 90/10 split on both. Minimum withdrawal is $20, you may hold three Sim-Funded accounts at once, and evaluation accounts are unlimited.
We still have not verified a single FTMO Futures payout. That has not changed since publication.
