What we verified

On 2026-08-22 we read Topstep’s official site and help centre directly.

  • The homepage mentions TopstepX four times and NinjaTrader, Tradovate or TradingView zero times
  • None of the 61 public help-centre articles describes NinjaTrader, Tradovate or TradingView
  • The TopstepX article is headlined “One platform. Everything you need.” — it launches in the browser at topstepx.com or from the Dashboard, with credentials emailed at first purchase
  • The one external option is a Quantower connection using TopstepX credentials (ProjectX data, a direct CME feed; Trading Combine and Express Funded Account only, per the guide dated 2026-06-18)
  • Automated trading is offered through TopstepX API Access (powered by ProjectX, billed separately from the subscription)

What it means for traders

If your Topstep plan assumed trading on NinjaTrader, Tradovate or TradingView, that assumption no longer holds: adapting to the browser-based TopstepX is effectively required. TopstepX ships with the Premium Feature Bundle (DOM Surface, TPO charts, volume analysis tools) at no extra cost, capped at two indicators per chart.

We found no dated migration announcement on the public help centre, so our rule-change tracker records only what we verified on 2026-08-22.
