1. Operating background

FundingPipsFintokei
Founded2022~2022 (JP/KR-focused launch)
BaseUAE (Dubai)European group, JP/KR market focus
Main audienceGlobalJapan, Korea
Trust rating (this site)MediumMedium–High

Neither is a veteran. FundingPips built its position on volume and pricing; Fintokei on depth of localization. Both still have their long-term record ahead of them — start small with either.

2. Pricing — a clear FundingPips win

FundingPipsFintokei
Cheapest entry~$30~10,000 JPY (StartTrader)
CurrencyUSDJPY available
RefundEvaluation fee refunded after sustained payouts (conditions apply)Depends on plan

On absolute cost, FundingPips is among the cheapest anywhere. Fees change frequently — confirm on the official sites. One caveat: ultra-cheap evaluations are economically designed around retries. Three repurchases erase the price gap, so read the hidden costs of prop firms before assuming cheap means cheap.

3. Evaluation rules

One-step and three-step variants exist too. Details in FundingPips rules explained.

SwiftTrader110%3% / 6%100% (verify current wording)
StartTrader3low × 33% / 6%50–100%

ProTrader’s loss allowances match FundingPips’ 2-step almost exactly. SwiftTrader trades a higher split for half the loss allowance — a real risk trade-off. Full breakdown in Fintokei plans compared.

4. Profit split and payouts

FundingPips ties the split to the payout cycle you choose: shorter cycles pay a lower percentage, and the longest cycle reaches 100% (as of 2026 — this scheme has changed before, so check the official site). You are effectively choosing between getting paid sooner and getting paid more.

Fintokei’s ProTrader pays a flat 80%; SwiftTrader’s plan table lists 100% (official pages differ in places — verify before buying); StartTrader is dynamic at 50–100%. Payout mechanics are covered in the Fintokei payout guide.

5. Support — a clear Fintokei win

  • FundingPips: English-based support; the Discord community is lively but unofficial, and support quality reportedly varies by time of day
  • Fintokei: site, terms, and support fully native in Japanese, serving Korean traders as well

The two moments prop traders most need support are rule interpretation and payout verification. Being able to handle both in your own language is worth more than the sticker-price difference for many traders. See prop firms with Japanese support.

6. Who should pick which

Pick FundingPips if you

  • Want the lowest cost per attempt and expect to retry
  • Are comfortable with English rules and support
  • Want to choose your own payout cadence

Pick Fintokei if you

  • Want rule and payout questions handled in Japanese
  • Prefer to start in JPY
  • Want a one-step route to a high split (SwiftTrader) or a ~10,000 JPY entry point (StartTrader)

Summary

Choose FundingPips on price, Fintokei on operating comfort. Both are young firms, so the universal rule applies: start small, complete one full payout cycle, then scale.

Disclosure: this site has an affiliate partnership with Fintokei and none with FundingPips — which is why we state plainly that FundingPips wins on price. Both sides of the trade-off are above; weigh them by your own priorities.
