Overview
Apex Trader Funding built its reputation on an 8-day payout cycle and a headline rule — you keep 100% of the first $25,000 per account, then 90%. As of March 1, 2026, that design is legacy in the literal sense: it now applies only to accounts bought before that date. Anyone signing up today gets a completely different payout system.
This guide covers both: the current EOD/Intraday Performance Account rules and the legacy rules, plus payment methods and timing, based on Apex’s official help center as of July 2026. Apex revises its rules often, so confirm the latest terms on the official help center before requesting.

The March 1, 2026 overhaul
The big picture first. On March 1, 2026, Apex retired its previous Evaluation and Performance Accounts. Accounts purchased before that date keep their old rules as “Legacy” accounts; new purchases are EOD-type or Intraday-type accounts only.
| Current (EOD / Intraday PA) | Legacy PA (bought before March 1, 2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Profit split | 100% of approved payouts | 100% of first $25,000, then 90% |
| Payout cycle | Up to weekly (5 qualifying days) | 8-day cycle |
| Minimum payout | $500 | $500 |
| Consistency rule | 50% (no day at 50%+ of profit) | 30% (until the 6th payout) |
| Payout count | Max 6 per account, then the account closes | No cap on count; no max amount from the 6th payout |
Legacy accounts cannot be converted to the new types, and vice versa. Which set of rules applies to you depends on when the account was purchased.
Current accounts: EOD / Intraday PA payouts
Current Performance Accounts pay 100% of the approved amount — in exchange, the conditions and caps are tightly defined.
Basic requirements
| Account size | Min trade days | Min daily profit (EOD) | Min daily profit (Intraday) | Min balance to request |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25K | 5 | $100 | $100 | $26,600 |
| $50K | 5 | $250 | $200 | $52,600 |
| $100K | 5 | $300 | $250 | $103,600 |
| $150K | 5 | $350 | $300 | $154,600 |
The key detail: not every trading day counts. Only days that meet the size-based minimum daily profit qualify. On a $50K EOD account, you need five days of $250+ each. The days do not need to be consecutive and there is no deadline to complete them. Five days is the floor, which is what makes weekly payouts possible.
The 50% consistency rule
No single profitable day may account for 50% or more of the total profit earned since your last approved payout (or since the account started, for the first request). Until you satisfy this, the request option simply does not appear. One monster day followed by an immediate withdrawal is not an option by design.
Safety Net
The Safety Net is your drawdown limit plus $100, and it must be maintained for the lifetime of the account. Only profit above the Safety Net can be withdrawn. The “min balance to request” column above already folds in the starting balance, the Safety Net, and the $500 minimum payout.
Six payouts per account, then it closes
This is the defining feature of the current system. Each PA can receive at most six payouts, each with its own maximum. After the sixth payout the PA is closed, and continuing means passing another evaluation for a new PA.
EOD maximums are below (Intraday figures differ slightly at some steps — see the official help center for the exact table).
| Payout # | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,000 | $2,500 |
| 2 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,500 | $3,000 |
| 3 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 |
| 4 | $1,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $3,000 |
| 5 | $1,000 | $2,500 | $4,000 | $4,000 |
| 6 | $1,000 | $3,000 | $4,000 | $5,000 |
A $50K account, in other words, can pay out at most $13,000 over its lifetime. The design clearly assumes Apex’s multi-account model (up to 20 accounts per household).
Legacy PA payouts
Performance Accounts bought before March 1, 2026 keep the rules Apex was known for.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Profit split | 100% of the first $25,000 per account, then 90% |
| Payout cycle | At least 8 trading days since the last request |
| Profit-day requirement | 5 of those days at $50+ profit |
| Minimum payout | $500 |
| Consistency rule | 30% (no day above 30% of the profit balance); lifted at the 6th payout or on transfer to a live account |
| Safety Net | Drawdown limit plus $100; applies to the first three payouts only |
Payout maximums apply to the first five payouts only ($1,500 on a $25K, $2,000 on a $50K, $2,500 on a $100K, and so on). From the sixth payout there is no maximum, as long as the minimum balance stays in the account. Combined with the first-$25,000-at-100% window, the legacy design opens up full profit access from the sixth payout onward.
That is a very different profile from the current system’s hard six-payout cap, so legacy holders should think twice before letting those accounts lapse. Legacy accounts can no longer be purchased.
Payment methods and timing
The method is determined by where you live — it is not a menu.
| Residence | Method |
|---|---|
| United States | ACH direct deposit to a US bank account |
| Outside the US | Plane, Apex’s payment partner |
For international traders, the first approved payout triggers an email from Plane with instructions to link a local bank account (check your spam folder if it does not arrive).
The official help center commits to a concrete timeline.
| Stage | Time |
|---|---|
| Apex review | Within 2 business days |
| Funds sent after approval | 3-4 business days |
| Bank/payment processing | 3-7 business days |
| Typical total | 5-11 business days |
The dashboard may show “PAID” well before the money lands; Apex asks users to allow up to 7 more business days before escalating. FX costs and Plane’s per-country support are worth checking in advance.
The payout flow
- Confirm which rule set your account is on (current or Legacy)
- Meet the requirements (current: 5 qualifying days plus 50% consistency; Legacy: 8 trading days, 5 days at $50+, 30% consistency)
- Make sure the balance is above the request threshold
- Request from the Payouts tab in the dashboard
- Review (within 2 business days), then transfer (3-4 business days), then arrival
You can keep trading immediately after requesting — but trade as if the requested amount had already left the balance. If the balance drops below the threshold before approval, the request is denied automatically (you can re-request once eligible again).
Summary
- The famous “100% of the first $25,000, 8-day cycle” applies only to Legacy accounts bought before March 1, 2026
- Current EOD/Intraday accounts pay a 100% split but cap each account at six payouts with per-payout maximums
- Minimum payout is $500 either way; only profit above the Safety Net (drawdown plus $100) is withdrawable
- International payouts go through Plane; expect 5-11 business days from request to arrival
Apex rebuilt its payout system from the ground up in 2026, so much of what older reviews say no longer applies. The figures here are current as of writing — always confirm against the official help center before you request.
